Get Up. Get Out. Get Moving. Make Contact!

When you are not in the world, you can start to feel isolated. Marketing is all about being seen. Develop ways to be making contacts. Take a class. Join an organization. Attend a gallery showing. Have a beer with friends. Talk a walk, take a hike, take a moment to see the world. Make dinner for others. Bring food to the unfortunate.

TALK WITH FRIENDS
Be a friend. Call. Email. Spend time together. Don't waste time complaining. Deliver negative thoughts to your therapist (no therapist but lots of negative thoughts? time to get one!) Work on changing (reframing) your thinking. And if you cannot afford it/don't believe in it – join an acting class or comedy class and change your thinking.

TALK WITH COLLEAGUES
Create projects together that keep you engaged and positive. Share strategies. Build ideas, plans and new outreaches. Build a strong circle of colleagues. Spend time with people who actively work on work and are involved in life fully. Surf the ocean together, then the web.

TALK WITH VENDORS
Stop in. Take someone to lunch. Read their blogs to know what to talk about. They know so much and so many. Get coffee regularly to increase your contacts and keep from being isolated. Be available to them.

WRITE LETTERS
Begin a letter writing campaign. Many potential users of your work can handle a letter much easier than an email or call. Regular letter writing is ready for a revival. Make sure your form is gorgeous, your spelling correct and your syntax and grammar beyond reproach! Then imagine what you can include in a letter that will delight, educate and interest your reader. Get their attention.

WRITE EMAILS
Email is a blessing and a curse. Make yours a delight. How? Fill them with interest. Make them compact and smart. Be friendly. Be considerate. Be concise.

RESEARCH NEW PLACES TO DO BUSINESS
Begin to think like a marketer. Who likes you, wants you, could use what you do? Think so far out of the friggen' box that you're thinking in circles. Then think some more. Go back to sharing strategies with colleagues and spark from there. Read magazines, go to lectures, see films and play games. Do everything that changes the way you see.

IMAGINE YOUR WORK IN DIFFERENT WAYS
If food is your market, think production, eating, dining, washing dishes, using utensils, go way out in imagining a "side door" into your market. If your market is film, imagine what you want to watch and where you like to see it. Think like your audience. Do everything that changes the way you see, hear, feel, think.

PRODUCE INNOVATIVE NEW WORK
Always be creating interesting, arresting product. Imagine a new way to see. Demonstrate innovation. Compel us to want more of you. Defeat the "block" and practice your craft.

PUT OUT NEW WORK
Constantly notice and note opportunities for distributing your work to your market in new and interesting ways. Visit museums, galleries, shops, schools and businesses. Consider guest blogging.  Use all social media.

TELL THE WORLD ABOUT YOUR WORK
Letting people know what's new by advertisement, exhibit, invitation is always important. Use many ways and many times. There is so much taking our attention. Be persistent and relentless.
